I am often not the first choice for patients seeking chiropractic care. “Shoppers” who feel money is more important than quality care often go somewhere else. When they finally do end up in my office, it is at a point of little faith, little expectation and sometimes, as a last hope. They have tried many modalities and approaches where either the doctor overpromised and underdelivered or little to no results were found. In some cases the patient underwent surgery and regretted doing so as the situation did not improve but became more complicated.
After coming in, the patient starts with the initial consultation. Here time is taken to dig into what actually occurred that brought the patient into the office. Time is given to explore into the experience of what occurred and what was going on in the individuals life during that time. Most patients giving feedback mention they are impressed at the amount of time they received and appreciate really being heard.
Following the consult, the patient is given an exam. Once again, there is an impression of the thoroughness of the exam. Many have said “I have never had such a thorough exam”, “My other doctor just spent 5 minutes on the exam”. My favorite one was “You are a body whisperer!” as they are impressed of the explanation of what is occurring with the body (without being shown exactly where the problem is), as well as pointing out areas they were unaware were a problem till pointed out.
One of them actually stated “you are like the old school doctors of long past where you actually spend time with the patient and really do an actual exam … that is nearly non existent today.” (That patient happened to be a doctor himself)
It’s truly about the care factor. Maybe I am better at finding things than others. I wouldn’t know unless we were there side by side comparing on the same patient on the same day.
But one thing is for sure, I sure love being thorough and that is where I feel I shine most.
Patients receiving their adjustments continue with their impressions of the service.
Many of my patients, when telling their friends and colleagues, say “He’s not just a chiropractor!” and follow up as “I can’t describe it, you just have to experience it”
The majority of them improve and get the results other doctors only promised but fell short to deliver. The best is when the first adjustment is delivered to patients whom have been to many other practitioners and many modalities. Frequently, I will say something like “You will feel lighter when you start moving around” or something to that extent depending on the patient.
After completing the adjustment, the patient gathers his/her belongings and starts walking away. Sometimes they have an immediate response, sometimes they sense it walking half way down the block.
Shortly after, patients say (or text):
Wow, I feel taller
I feel lighter
I feel more stable
Wow, walking is easy!
I can walk straighter
I can sleep better
I feel more peaceful
I feel more connected
The room seems brighter
I feel more upright
I feel like a weight just lifted from my body
and the list goes on and on.
In longstanding patients, they have reported that before coming to see me, they thought they could never exercise, dance, or participate in sports again. With continuous corrective care, they have been able to do the things they enjoy and love.
That being said, all patients in my office know this is a team effort. It’s you and it’s me working together towards the same goal of getting your body to perform at the most optimal state it can. People who want to get well, really do get well.
But if the approach is simply showing up and not doing your part, the results are minimized.
So if you are a person who is truly looking for help and are willing to work together, don’t waist time, schedule your appointment today and find out what everyone else is raving about.
We get results others only talk about about!
