What are you waiting for?

There are two common approaches to health. One is restoring it from an undesired state and the other is maintaining it or preventing it from getting worse.
Ironically when you are in pain, especially if the onset was gradual, you can frequently realize there were a lot of things you knew you should have done but instead neglected.

Simple gradual measures could have been taken to maintain or preserve the body from declining towards pain, suffering or a crisis situation.

So there is the sedentary approach towards health and there is the proactive approach towards health.

Being proactive may include stretching, exercising, nutrition, chiropractic, acupuncture, massage and so on.  These things take a little part of your time each week but build a strong healthy foundation for you and your body to work through its environment.

I know what you’re thinking, who has time for all that? I have kids, I have to be at work too early and/or leave too late. I’m too tired by the end of the day. I can’t fit one more thing into my life, I am already overwhelmed … You can list all the justifications on why you can’t and when you run out of reasons, now you can actually start taking a look on how you CAN incorporate these things into your life.

When you are in a lot of pain, nothing else matters!
You can’t go to work, you can’t sleep soundly, you can’t take care of the kids and actually, given the pain being bad enough, you can’t do much of anything. You become a liability to yourself and others as they now have to go out of their way to fill in the areas you were once responsible for.
Also, your attitude towards things change. Most often people in pain are less tolerant and easily frustrated, making it less easy to be around.

When you are in pain, your body has wound up so much that no type of body compensation could help it get out of the state it has found itself in. Naturally getting chiropractic adjustments will do wonders but why wait for a crisis where you have to take off work, cancel plans or delegate your responsibilities to others because you simply are incapable of doing things in your current state?

Doing something consistently and regularly really makes it a game changer. When my patients come in regularly and experience a hick up on the road to wellness, they always bounce out of it within a very short number of visits. They recover fast and go about their business without much delays. Sometimes the speed of recovery leaves them surprised and in awe.

I recently had a patient who got injured in a skiing accident. She was under regular care and right in the middle of her care plan, got into this accident and walked in with an abnormal gait, evident that she was in pain. I adjusted her and immediately the gait changed towards the better. 2 more adjustments and she was surprised on how well she was walking and moving.
So you may be thinking that it was a minor injury, right? Well, a diagnostic review indicated a ligament tear and a conversation of surgery was presented in which she turned down.

This is just to show you that consistent, regular care makes all the difference. If god forsake, something does occur that needs handling, you are in a better position to overcome it than if you did nothing towards improving your body health and structural foundation.  Fact is people heal better and faster when they are on regular care than just waiting for something to turn on before seeking care.

Why wait for something to turn on? Why not do something regularly and continuously to help your body be structurally sound and function as close to it’s optimum as possible?

Everything we do or don’t do has it’s consequences. Being proactive towards your health provides positive consequences.

So if you haven’t done so already, schedule your appointment today to get on your journey towards optimum health.

As always
