What Are You Grateful For?

One of the most interesting things I have experienced in my many years of practice as a holistic based chiropractor is the unique phenomenons that go far beyond any aches and pains patients come in with.  And the best is when it is being exhibited while the patient is mid-adjustments. If you have been a patient at Sol-Center Chiropractic, you may have noticed some of your own subtle shifts.  And you may have gotten a sense of the adjustment influencing aspects beyond the physical aliment that might have found you seeking help. Well every once in a while there is a unique pattern that gets released from the patient and becomes quite infections. I had a patient whom normally talks about the happenings of his life as he gets adjusted. In this particular session it started out in his traditional way of sharing his stores. As various patterns started releasing, he starts shifting his conversation and expressing gratitude towards all the people and things he was grateful for. I looked around the room and noticed the room filling up and being permeated with the state he was beaming. It filled the space like a thick mist. It was quite infectious indeed! I started feeling it all in my body and mind as well. And like him, started feeling grateful for all the people and things in my life (including him). How do you handle stress?

The past couple of years has brought on more stress to every individual on the planet than we have seen in decades! While a certain amount of stress is normal, too much of it can overwhelm you, your mind and your body. So how do you handle Stress? If you feel stuck in a fight-or-flight state then likely there is something you need to do in order to return to homeostasis – a stable balance point between you, your mind and your body. Whether it’s the state of the world, heartbreak, or your own healing journey, there are things you can do in order to help yourself through it. The goal is for you to get back to living your life to it’s fullest potential. Here are some helpful tips: Listen to what you are thinking. Remember, thoughts backed up by emotions are powerful things. If you find yourself in a negative internal dialogue, you do have the choice and power to flip the script! You can take a step back and recalibrate yourself with a few deep breathes and rephrase that dialogue to something that can be motivating, inspiring or promising. Follow that by actions and you got yourself a beautiful receipt towards solidifying those beneficial thought patterns. Think of it like you are giving advice to your most dearest friend whom you really want to do and be well in life. That’s the type of caring conversation you would benefit from internally. Overwhelmed with all life is throwing at you?

More and more patients are reporting how overwhelmed they are with all the things they have to juggle in life. Seems like more and more piles on, less and less can get handled and there is no end in sight. In some cases, by the end of the day it is a dragging of the body to the bed and collapsing for a few hours only to start all over the next day. Would you believe me if I said getting an adjustment may help change things around? I am not saying there will be less things piling on but what if getting adjusted would help you be in a state where you can face the tasks at hand a little bit better, maybe even a little bit saner? I know what you are thinking. Well, I don’t have the time! I already have too much to do, too much to handle. I can’t afford it now! I am just trying to make it through the day! Changing a life simply with an adjustment

  Here is one of my patients in my Queens location who is an amazing athlete and a frequent centrum biker (meaning he would bike 100 miles in a day). Needless to say, he took his physical state and athleticism very seriously and incorporated a healthy diet filled with organic foods and any supplements needed to support his overall well being. He had gotten into a very bad bicycle accident and sold his favorite bike. After the second accident a short time later, he came to me to help him with his left shoulder. He had significant limitations in the range of motion. Also his strength on  that left side was seriously reduced to a minimum. I would adjust him twice a week and he would report nice gradual changes in mobility and strength. week by week he reported being able to do more with his arm. Left shoulder was getting stronger and he was able to do incline push ups – something he would not consider a few weeks prior. One day he comes in and slightly down, he states, “You know, I think I am going to sell my bike”. He was on the verge of quitting something he absolutely loved to do due and give into the fear of getting into another bike accident! I told him “You can always sell your bike, but do me one favor. Do You Know About KST?

If you were wondering what I do in my office, it is called KST. My dear friend and mentor, Dr Tedd Koren, came up with this method of analyzing and correcting the body out of desperation to get himself out of a dire health situation. He traveled around the nation from practitioner to practitioner seeking relief from the top of various fields and although some did help, no relief sustained. After many years of effort, time and money, he decided to figure it out himself. He started adjusting himself and for the first time in over a decade, he felt lasting relief, He tried it on his wife who was suffering from chronic headaches and within one or two adjustments the headaches were gone. As interest grew and more patients reported remarkable changes in their state, other doctors requested Dr. Koren to teach this system of analysis and correction. This was the birth of Koren Specific Technique (KST). The unique difference with this system is that there is a constant communication between the practitioner and the body as to what needs to be adjusted, in what way and in what order.  That being said, the unique slogan often used in KST is, “You are only as good as the questions you ask”.  With KST there is a funneling of hundreds of questions that leads the practitioner to the exact point needed to be adjusted in that moment.
